The following ten scholarships are just some of the many that may be available to you.
1. Fulbright Foreign Student Program in the USA for International Students
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is a scholarship program of competitive, merit-based grants for international students who want to study in the United States.
The program was established by legislation enacted in 1946. The Program provides selected students from designated countries with grants to study at any one of approximately 1,000 colleges and universities throughout the United States.
There are three types of top scholarship opportunities awards:
- Graduate Student Awards (Master’s and Doctoral level),
- Undergraduate Student Awards, and
- Short-Term Study/Specialist Internship Awards.
All awardees receive stipends and allowances for tuition, books, health insurance, travel between their home country and host country, research materials, etc. Students also have access to on-campus employment opportunities.
Each year, over 6,000 applications are received for about 500 student awards through Fulbright; each applicant can apply for multiple programs.

2. American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship
The Emerging Global Leader Scholarship seeks to promote international education by offering ten scholarships worth $5,000 each to highly qualified applicants from around the world. To be eligible, applicants must have a strong academic record and at least one year of professional work experience.
They also must speak English as a second language and have completed at least two years of their undergraduate studies before entering graduate school.
The scholarships are only open to students who will pursue full-time study in graduate or professional programs at American University starting in September 2022.

3. National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate Fellowship
This fellowship is sponsored by NASA and administered through the Department of Defense. It offers up to $31,200 per year to doctoral students who are studying science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled full-time at an accredited university working toward a Ph.D. degree in one of these fields; they also must have completed at least one year of graduate study before applying. The application deadline is Dec 16, 2022.
4. Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD)
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (also known as UGRAD) offers international students with financial needs, a full scholarship to any of nearly 200 partner universities throughout North America.
To qualify for Top Scholarship Opportunities, applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of a country other than the United States and have received their secondary education abroad.
They also must demonstrate academic merit by achieving a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent on another grading system.
In addition, they must pass an English proficiency exam such as TOEFL or IELTS; if they are unable to take these exams due to circumstances beyond their control, they may submit alternative evidence of English proficiency such as TOEIC scores.
There is no age limit to apply, but there is a deadline: candidates must apply by December 1st of each year for consideration in that same year’s competition.
Candidates who wish to participate must complete an online application and submit official transcripts from all secondary schools attended, including both public and private institutions.
If selected, candidates will receive notification between January and March of each year; acceptance into a university partner school is contingent upon verification of information provided on applications.
5. PEO International Peace Scholarships for Women
The PEO IPDE Foundation offers scholarships of up to $5,000 each to women from around the world who want to study or conduct research on international peace and conflict resolution. Eligible fields of study include political science, international relations, economics, sociology, and anthropology.
