To link your NIN number to your MTN mobile number is by using the mobile shortcode (*785#) created for MTN users by MTN Network. The *785# created by MTN is by far the best and easiest way to connect your NIN to your MTN number.

Connect to NIN Using MTN’s Website

To link your NIN to your MTN phone number using the MTN online website:

  • Fill in your first name, last name, middle name (optional), phone number, NIN, and email address.
  • Then “submit”.
Connect with NIN MTN Using a Mobile Short Code

To link your NIN to your MTN number using the USSD Code:

  • Dial *785 # and then wait for the window prompt to enter your 11-digit National Identification Number.
  • Input the 11-digit National Identification Number, then send it. A window will pop-up stating “your NIN has been successfully received.”

If you get an error, just wait for some time and try again with the linking.

How to Link Your NIN to Your Glo Number

To link your NIN number to your Glo number, all you need to do is visit the Glo official portal for National Identification Number registration and fill out the online form to connect your NIN to your Glo number.

Another way to link the NIN number to the Glo number is simply sending ‘UPDATENIN NIN FirstName and LastName’ to 109, e.g. ‘UPDATENIN 12345678903 Kanu James’ to 109.

  1. Fill in your details correctly: first name, last name, middle name (optional), phone number, national identity number (NIN), and email address.
  1. Complete the verification by entering any two-digit number, then submit.
How to Link Your NIN to Your Airtel Mobile Number

To link your NIN to your Airtel mobile number, dial *121#. Follow the prompt on your mobile device to link the NIN number. Follow these steps on your airtel number.

  1. Dial *121 #
  1. Press 1 for NIN capture.
  1. Enter your 11-digit NIN here.
  1. A confirmation pop-up will appear, stating that you have successfully linked your mobile number.

If you get an error, just wait for some time and try again with the linking.

How to Connect Your NIN to Your 9Mobile Phone Number

To link your NIN number to your Etisalat or 9Mobile number is by visiting the Etisalat NIN portal to fill out the form to link the identification number to your Etisalat mobile number. You can also link your NIN to your 9Mobile/Etisalat number by visiting the nearest 9Mobile outlet with your NIMC form (or your NIN number) and your 9Mobile/Etisalat sim pack.

Alternatively, dial *200*8# to connect your NIN to the 9mobie/Etisalat network.

How to Check the Status of Your Mobile Number Registration
