Is iPhone 12 Waterproof. The iPhone 12 is a smartphone with a great design, full 5G network support, excellent cameras, and powerful performance. With a price tag of $699, the iPhone 12 is currently one of the best iPhones available.
Despite the introduction of the iPhone 13 series, which has faster performance, slightly better cameras, and longer battery life, the iPhone 12 remains one of the best phones you can buy overall.
The iPhone 12 has a few flaws that we don’t like. Even though it has limited base storage and lacks a powerful zoom-in camera and a display with high refresh rates, it is one of the best-selling phones of 2021 and 2022.
We will show you the price and specifications of the iPhone 12, which is part of the iconic iPhone family and has a slightly different design than previous versions, as well as many additional developments and improvements over previous generations.

Is iPhone 12 Waterproof?
NO. Apple’s iPhone 12 is water-resistant, so if you drop it in the pool or get splashed with liquid, it should be fine. The IP68 rating of the iPhone 12 means it can withstand up to 19.6 feet (six meters) of water for 30 minutes.
According to Apple’s support page, you should not intentionally submerge or swim with your iPhone, nor should you expose it to extreme temperatures. However, for the purposes of our experiment, we wanted to push it to its limits.
For our first dive, we wanted to put the IP68 claim to the test by diving in 19.6 feet (6 meters) of water for 30 minutes. We positioned the iPhone on a mount facing the drone’s camera, with the screen set to stay on, so we could see what happened to the iPhone while it was underwater.
After 30 minutes, we removed the phone from the water and dried it with a cloth. Then we tested it to see if the phone worked. The touchscreen was fine, and the volume rocker worked as expected. All three cameras (front, ultrawide, and wide) appeared clear with no evidence of fogging, and the photos appeared normal.
We recorded a voice memo before dunking the phone and could hear that the speaker sounded a little muffled in comparison to after the first dive, but it’s difficult to say whether that would’ve improved after letting it dry out for a longer period of time. To speed up the drying process, Apple recommends placing the iPhone’s base and Lightning connector in front of a fan. But we had other plans.
Is iPhone 12 Waterproof? How watertight is the iPhone 12?
According to our highly speculative test, the iPhone 12 can withstand very deep water and clearly meets the IP68 claim. However, as with all electronics, there is a limit to how much water it can withstand – and you should never intentionally submerge the phone in water (lake or otherwise). Also, keep in mind that water damage is not covered by the warranty.
I’m going to advise anyone using an iPhone 12 to always try as much as possible not to keep their phones inside water.
